What People are Saying About RF

Matt S:

Thank God! Or, more immediately, thank you to the contributing anglers and authors and artists who made Rise Forms a reality. For years I have felt the absence of something on the internet, and now I know what it was.
When I leave this page up, and my daughter jumps on to check her facebook, I know the literate motif resonates. When my four-year-old asks where his Elmo indoor fishing pole is, I know he has seen a tarpon leaping from the monitor. When my wife asks what time I’m leaving for Frenchman Flats in the morning, I know I don”t have to plead for “daddy time” tonight.
When I can’t take the claustrophobia of life in Los Angeles for one more nanosecond, I know I have you at my fingertips.
Well done,
Matt

John D:

Love what I have seen so far. I have not seen anything like this and I troll around the internet for anything fly. The stories and articles that have been added to the premiere magazine are both overwhelming and just down right phenomenal. I look forward to reading all that this magazine will offer. Great job and keep up the great work.

Marty S:

Rise forms is a much needed breath of fresh air in our fly fishing community which has been beset by rampant commercialism. This and negative economics have eliminated the emphasis on literary quality from most periodicals. Even NGO magazines such as the Federation of Flyfisher’s Flylines, which in its early years was a font for our best authors, has fallen prey to modern times and budgetary limitations. Rise Forms can fill a significant gap and I wish you success in your stated endeavors.

Bill S:

Great idea! I’m packing for 2 months on Florida’s Space Coast – Redfish, Snook & Trout await, but your fine articles will hold me through the rough sometimes unpredictable winter weather on the east coast. Can’t wait for more.

Dave P:

Loved the “Easy Creek” story!! Very nice premiere issue. I will look forward to reading the next! You seem to have a little something for every angler.

J B:

Not your typical fly rag, congratulations! I particularly appreciate the focus that allows for the inspirations that we all find in this “obsession” to be expressed. I look forward to the continuation of your effort.

Golman E:

Your magazine is sterling. The mixture of art and literary voices is much appreciated. I wish you all the best in your effort to produce such a sorely needed resource.

Mark J:

Great first issue. The combination of the pieces you have pulled together fit nicely, and give me the feel of being there not here. More so than a how to article found in most fishing magazines. More of a state of mind.

Eric K:

It’s about time someone took the time to publish a literary site on fly-fishing. Kudos to you guys and I hope it takes you far. I loved every read. You know you got something good when it sends shivers down your readers spine, amazing.

Tony L:

Dear Scott and crew, thank you for lifting my day to greater heights. I was sitting here at the office going through the standard Friday work business when I was made aware of the new Rise Forms site. And what a joy! The creative form of fly fishing writing is a niche that needed to be filled in the online environment. Anyway, well done and congratulations on the first issue, looking forward to reading future installments of Rise Forms.

Howard H:

Good to see something with a focus on encouraging creativity. I like the approach of several different disciplines as well. Hope to see new emerging talents published in your magazine. A good start.

James R:

I love your new online magazine. I think it fills a void that has been in fly fishing entertainment/art. You are mixing all art, with one common bond, fly fishing, and I think that’s great. Keep it up!

Jack W:

When other outdoor magazines are falling victim to the culture-less society, you stand tall. Thanks. Sign me up for a subscription as well.

Alan F:

Beautiful in image and word!

Irfan G:

When I started fly fishing three years ago, I didn’t realize that this is not merely a sport, and that it would lead me to many other elegant pursuits. And the most elevated of these pursuits would be in the form of fly fishing literature by some of the most gifted writers.

Your magazine is definitely the first one to cater my literary needs. The premier volume is almost perfect in every way, and I am sure it will evolve into something even better. I am also certain that your great effort will start a new trend and help create many more similar quality online journals.

Congratulation on creating an outstanding online magazine!
